The mighty 1/72 Polistil Tiger

I managed to buy a 1974 old Polistil Tiger tank at a flea market in very bad conditions as you can see from the pics. Also the gun barrel was missing. I got one from RB Model and refurbished the tank completed adding some Peddinghaus decals, among other stuff. The outcome looks fine with me, not being a rivet counter but the snag is that the tank looks bigger than the 1/72 scale. I have not measured it in reality but my impression is that it is way too big. As I stick to 1/76 scale this is a problem. If you compare it with an Airfix Tiger as shown in the pics it definetively looks much bigger, although the Airfix is closer to 1/72 than 1/76. Incidentally a Kfz 31 is pictured aswell

Sherman Kangaroos

Sherman Kangaroos seem to have been peculiar of the Italian campaign as some 75 Shermans III (M4A2) were converted in nine days at the end of 1944. That mainly occurred in Ancona, in the center of Italy. I have not found any pic as a reference that they were used by the 7th AD or by the 1st Polish AD. Nevertheless, I displayed here a couple of them belonging to the motor battalion of the 4th Independent Brigade pushing forward from the rear area. I converted a couple of Airfix Sherman while in the background we spot a jeep belonging to HQ and mounting a Browning, a Bedford QLR Command Body 2 (Trux), a Reme HQ M3 with Besa (Airfix) and a Standard 12hp utility (MMS)
